STEVEN BERLIN JOHNSON (1968), american popular science author. He has worked as a columnist for magazines such as Discover Magazine, Slate, Wired. He co-founded the early webzine Feed Magazine in 1995, and the Webby-award-winning news discussion site Plastic.com in 2001. He is a Distinguished Writer in Residence at New York University. In 2007, he announced a new online service, Outside.in, which he described as "an attempt to collectively build the geographic Web, neighborhood by neighborhood". (oh-oh)… Also father of three boys, husband of one wife, author of five books. On March 9, 2009, SBJ appeared on The Colbert Report to promote his new book, The Invention of Air.
